Welcome to The Rak Tamachat
The Tree of Life and Permaculture Principle Symbols below are the Rak Tamachat representation of the classic Permaculture Design Principles laid out in the Permaculture: A Designers’ Manual and more recently updated by David Holmgren at:
We welcome you to review our take on the Principles, explore the Designer’s Manual and check out David’s.

Principle 1 - Observe and Interact
At Rak Tamachat we like to say that you can not learn anything from osmosis, you have to look, listen, learn and then most importantly DO!

Principle 2 - Catch and Store Energy
At Rak Tamachat we know that we need to be able to keep the fruits of our work for a long period of time. We use many varied ways of preservation for our products such as: Fermentation, Dehydration, Canning, etc……

Principle 3 - Obtain a Yield
At Rak Tamachat we know that if we want to achieve our goals we will need to produce a quality yield. To obtain the yield you desire and support your Permaculture Lifestyle you need to carefully review your Permaculture Goals.

Principle 4 - Listen and Learn
At Rak Tamachat we know that if we want to learn to make the world a better place we will have to find and listen to the world leaders in Regenerative Design and then learn from them so we can do the work that is needed to make the change we want to see a reality.

Principle 5 - Use Renewable Resources
In Thailand the Thai knows the value of Renewable Resources and the Thai Buffalo spends long days in the sun, plowing fields and pulling charts. And in the past before fossil fuels many of the crops would not be possible without them.

Principle 6. Inputs to Outputs
At Rak Tamachat we follow the ZERI (Zero Emissions Research Initiatives) Sustainable Development Thought Processes. We know the five kingdoms of nature produce no waste and we strive to replicate nature in our systems.

Principles 7 - Mimic Nature
At Rak Tamahcat we know that Nature is our Teacher and that the best way to assure success is to Mimic Nature. When design and building our Permaculture Systems we always take time to reflect and make sure we are following Nature.

Principle 8 - Integrate Not Segregate
At Rak Tamachat inclusion in our Community is what drives us. We work to always integrate not just people but all our systems. We practice integrative agriculture to assure that we produce no waste and the highest value yield.

Principle 9 - Keep It Simple Stupid
At Rak Tamachat we teach Design and it is not always easy to give constructive criticism of a students work. With the simple acronym of K.I.S.S. we are reminded that Permaculture and Nature need not be complicated, but rather simple.

Principle 10 = Create Diversity
At Rak Tamachat we are sometimes called a Perma-dise mostly because of the diversity of fauna we have onsite. We are blessed with a good environment, but also realize it is our action to promote diversity that leads to our garden of edan.

Principle 11 - Maximize Edge
At Rak Tamachat we know the value of the edge. We have maximized the usage in our Permaculture Master Plan to help create one of the leading Permaculture Educations Centers today. We push the edge in all we do, and it shows.

Principle 12 - Embrace Change
At Rak Tamachat we realize that change is all around us. We know that to succeed in making the world better we will have to take control of change and embrace it. We use the principles of Permaculture to allow us to control change.
